I still remember staring at my screen on the night of February 4, 2026, coffee going cold beside my keyboard, waiting for the servers to breathe again. I had been counting down the days since the 3.1 drip marketing dropped, and honestly, the wait felt longer than a full chapter of the main story. When the update finally landed, I dove in headfirst — and I have not really come up for air since. This is my personal walkthrough of everything Wuthering Waves 3.1 threw at me, from the haunting new Resonators to the frostbitten wilds of Lahai-Roi.

⏰ When The Frostlands Opened

The version went live on February 04, 2026, and it will keep running until March 18, 2026 for NA servers. Players on other regions get slightly shifted timings, so I made myself a little cheat sheet before I logged in.

Server Start Window End Window
NA Feb 04, 2026 Mar 18, 2026
Europe Feb 04–05, 2026 Mar 18–19, 2026
Asia Feb 04–05, 2026 Mar 18–19, 2026

I ended up rolling on a fresh account just to feel the pacing again, and it was absolutely worth it. 🌨️

🎭 The Two Resonators Who Stole My Heart

The headline act of 3.1 is the arrival of two brand-new 5-star characters, and I pulled for both of them without hesitation.

Aemeath — The Digital Ghost

Aemeath is a 5-star Fusion Resonator who wields a Sword. She used to be a Synchronist at the Startorch Academy, and now she drifts through Lahai-Roi as a digital ghost — invisible to absolutely everyone except Rover. There is something genuinely melancholic about playing a character nobody else can see, and the way her kit layers Fusion damage on top of that ghostly motif made her an instant favorite in my roster.

Luuk Herssen — The Healer With Secrets

Luuk Herssen is a 5-star Spectro Resonator using Gauntlets. He serves as the head physician of the Resonator Nursing Unit at Startorch Academy, working as both an attending doctor and a mental health counselor. On paper he sounds like the gentle one — but the story wastes no time hinting that there is far more beneath the surface. I found myself genuinely curious about what he is hiding.

⚔️ Weapons, Banners, and My Pulling Regrets

Two new signature weapons joined the pool alongside the two Resonators. The banner lineup also brought back Chisa, Lupa, and Galbrena for reruns, which was a blessing and a curse — my Astrite reserves did not survive contact with that schedule. 😭

  • New 5-stars: Aemeath, Luuk Herssen

  • Signature weapons: two brand-new options tuned to their kits

  • Reruns: Chisa, Lupa, Galbrena

📖 The Story That Finally Paid Off

Two new main quests arrived with 3.1, and I played them back to back in a single sitting.

  1. Chapter III Act III: The Star That Voyages Far — the closing act of Chapter III, and it hit harder than I expected.

  2. Segue Afterstory: All That Sunlight Touches — a bridge chapter that quietly sets the stage for whatever comes next.

And here is the part that made me genuinely happy: finishing The Star That Voyages Far unlocks a free Rover outfit called Perpetual Spark. No gacha, no currency, no strings attached. Just play the story and get rewarded. More of this, please. 🎁

❄️ Exploring the Roya Frostlands

The new region, Roya Frostlands: Frostlands Surface, is easily the most atmospheric map Kuro Games has shipped in a while. I spent my first hour just walking around and listening to the ambience instead of fighting anything.

With the new area came nine new Echoes, two of which are Phantom variants:

  • Phantom: Sigillum

  • Sigillum

  • Nameless Explorer

  • Reminiscence Kronaclaw

  • Kronablight

  • Glammoth

  • Phantom: Iceglint Dancer

  • Iceglint Dancer

  • Shadow Stepper

Three new Sonata effects also entered the game, and they reshaped how I built a couple of my teams:

  • Trailblazing Star

  • Chromatic Foam

  • Sound of True Name

🎉 Eleven Events and a Full Calendar

I have to admit, the event list overwhelmed me at first. Eleven separate events landed with 3.1, spanning combat challenges, exploration tasks, and story-flavored side content. I paced myself by picking the ones with the most generous rewards first, then worked backward. If you are short on time, prioritise anything tied to the Frostlands — those tend to feed directly into your Echo farming loop anyway.

💭 My Final Thoughts

Wuthering Waves 3.1 feels like the version where everything clicked. Aemeath's ghostly tragedy and Luuk's polished bedside manner give the cast real texture, the Roya Frostlands are gorgeous, and the free Rover outfit is a genuinely player-friendly touch. I went in expecting a solid patch and came out with a new favorite region and a very empty Astrite wallet.

If you are still on the fence, just start with the main quest — everything else in 3.1 flows naturally from there. And if you see a digital ghost wandering the snow, say hello. She probably cannot hear you, but it feels right anyway. ❄️✨
